Director and Producer required
Tayside Opera
is
currently seeking a Chorus Director to work with the society
from January 2008 until 1st June (Spring Concert).
The Chorus
Director prepares the chorus for the November opera performances
from January, and prepares and conducts the Spring Concert.
The opera production from June will be conducted by the MD
(Richard Johnstone).
Rehearsals are on Sundays
(6.45-9.00pm) in Dundee West Church hall, Perth Road.

members.

We
are singing opera from a wide repertoire, with normally 4
performances of an opera and one concert in May/ June.
Come along to one of our rehearsals and see whether you like
it. There is an audition, but usually only after you have
taken part in a number of rehearsals to allow you to get to
know us.
We are looking for all voices, chorus to principals. If you
are keen to get involved back stage, design and produce costumes,
build props etc. or do lighting we are also happy to hear
from you. Members come from a wide catchment area, not only
Dundee (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Angus,
Perthshire, Aberdeen!!).
Our production in 2007 was the comic opera The Love Elixir by
Donizetti, transposed to a village hospital in the 1940s –
great fun and great music. Ages range from 14 to ..
(we won’t say!)… maturity.
