What is a Visitor?

Every group on joining Making Music Scotland is allocated a Visitor who is usually a member of the Scottish Committee but may be a volunteer. The Visitor's task is to act as the link between the member group and Making Music Scotland, to offer advice if required and to ensure that a group is taking full advantage of the services which Making Music has to offer.

The Visitor also supports the Making Music Representative (the member of a group appointed to deal with Making Music matters).

Where a group has applied for Financial Aid, the Visitor has the additional task of ensuring that the group's programme matches that detailed in their funding application and also of assessing the performance in relation to previous years.

By far the most important aspect of the Visitor's role is that of support / liaison and all Making Music Scotland members are guaranteed telephone/email contact and, if practical, at least one personal visit during the season.

To find out who your group's Visitor is, consult the Making Music Scotland Register - your Making Music Representative has a copy.

(Please note – Register details will be subject to change as new members join and/or new visitors are appointed)
