While Making Music Scotland has limited funds at its disposal for distribution to members, there are other avenues to follow in the search for financial support.  The following links should help to point you in the right direction.

    The Scottish Arts Council's useful Guide to Funds, which provides a summary of Scottish Arts Council and National Lottery funding opportunities for the Arts in Scotland for 2009/10. It details funding priorities within each art form.  Click the link on the left for a list of SAC funds applicable to Making Music members in Scotland

    If you need funding between £500 and £10,000 you should consider applying to Awards for AllThis is a joint programme to help small organisations, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Scottish Arts Council, SportScotland and the Big Lottery Fund.

    Visit the Voluntary Arts Scotland web site and click on their Funding section for information on all sorts of funds and trusts which provide financial help for the voluntary sector.  Sign up to receive their free e-newsletter which appears regularly and contains up to the minute information on new funding opportunities as they arise.

    Making Music's web site provides information on funding available within and outside the organisation as well as details of specific projects from which member groups can benefit.

  5. Local Authority funding is readily available in some areas of Scotland and should become universally available given the Scottish Executive's new stipulations.  Contact you local Arts Development Team or check out your Local Authority's web site - find the address on the COSLA site.

  6. Numerous Trusts and Foundations have funds to distribute, sometimes on a general basis but frequently with a specific focus as to the type of project or the area within which the funding can be used.  Visit http://www.dsc.org.uk/ the Directory of Social Change web site, for information on their two volumes of trust and foundation listings which you should be able to view at your local library.
